Last post for the week

This will be the last post this week as I am leaving in the morning to go visit family.  Both of our Mom's are getting up in age and I need to see them as often as I can now.  Also, my dear brother-in-law is in the last stages of his battle against cancer.  It is heart-wrenching to see how he has fought the good fight, but is losing ground quickly now.  I'm hoping to get one last good visit with him.  He is a dear and has always been SO helpful to both my sister and my mother as well as assisting us with different chores over the years for my mother-in-law as well.  He will be sorely missed by everyone.  Truly a special man.

The last two cards I have to share from Stamp Camp West are from our fearless leader, Rochelle, and my very special downline, Tami.

First, here is Rochelle's.  Isn't it adorable.  I just LOVE the boots.

Next is Tami's.  I love this!  Tami's father worked for a company that made brads and she has the most extensive and adorable collection.  They were all ocean inspired for this card.  She had seashells, crabs, fish, etc.  They were just perfect for this card!

Such a neat way to use the baby footprint stamp, huh!?!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend.  I'll be seein' ya next week.

Oops....missed "tomorrow"

Well, that was foolish of me to say I would post my creation "tomorrow" since tomorrow was Stamp Camp West and dinner out for hubby's birthday.  No time for blogging!

I thoroughly enjoyed Sue's class!  But then, that is partly because I thoroughly enjoy SUE!  It was my first visit to her shop.  VERY NICE!  Of course I found a couple little items I just HAD to have.  <sigh>! My friend Mickie and I then went on to a sale at another demos home, who was moving.  I, of course, found a few things THERE I had to have too. Then.....a stop for lunch and Archiver's.  Yet ANOTHER little sumptin' I had to have.  It's a sickness I tell ya!

I'm loving this quilting technique and hope to make many more cards with it.  So many patterns out there to use!

Here is my creation:

They look harder to do than they are!

Here is a look at our stamp camp.  Everyone is hard at work!  As soon as I get permission from everyone I will post photos of their creations.  Here is the venue:

You saw my card.
Here is one by Sandy

And, one by Terry

Last one for today was by Carolyn using the set I love.....Wonderfall
She embossed the clear sheet with the Woodgrain embossing folder and added color to the embossed image.  LOVE IT!

That's it for today.  Laundry and grocery shopping to be done.  I am leaving on Wednesday for a short trip to see family.  Need to get provisions in so the hubby doesn't starve while I'm gone!  :)

Bye for now,
Sharon

TGIF

TGIF!

Later this morning I'm going to go take a class at The Craft Box in Golden Colorado.  We're going to make cards with the quilt technique.  SO COOL!  I will post my "creation" tomorrow.  The Craft Box is a store opened by a stamping buddy of mine, Sue Sterrett.  She and her partner brainstormed this wonderful idea.  The store is a "Goodwill" type of venture.  Gently used products.  It helps all of us "accumulators" clear out some of our impulse purchases as well as retired merchandise, etc.  They will buy items for a fair price, or you can simply donate the stuff.  I've given them several donations, but have MUCH more to go through here.  When I get to it, they will benefit!  If you live in the Denver Metro area, stop by and visit!  Classes are also available, in fact may teach one there myself soon.  Their address is: 15750 S. Golden Rd., Golden, CO 80401.  You can also find them on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/#!/thecraftboxgolden/info

Until tomorrow..................

Good Morning,

Today I'm posting a photo of the card design that I will be doing at our SCW (Stamp Camp West) this coming Saturday.  It is a CASE of a wonderful card by Cristena Bagne.  I've had her card in my "Favorites" for awhile!  The card uses this year's Ronald McDonald set, "Moving Forward".  Stampin' Up! donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this set to the Ronald McDonald charity.  They have a new set each year for this and this year's is just adorable.  I especially like this little tricycle!  I used retired items for the inside.  The dotted Borderlines seemed to be just the thing to accent the dotted DSP on the front.  And the itty bitty tricycle inside is from the retired set "Pedaling Past".

Inside

(I really need to get a light box!)

It's a bit difficult to see in this photo, but the little basket was stamped a second time, cut out and popped up. Also, there are rhinestones in the centers of the flowers and Stampin' Up!'s awesome tiny silver brads in the centers of the wheels.

The "base" of this is a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of black cardstock.
Then, the white "card" is 4 x 10 1/2, scored in the middle.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your "hump day"!

Now....back to work so I can get something else ready to upload on here!  Thanks again!

Wonderfall

I love fall and I love leaves.  Fall colors are so warm and rich.  So, when Stampin' Up! came out with the new Wonderfall bundle with the stampset and the matching dies, I couldn't wait to get it and try it out.  This is the first project I made with it.  MMMM, love the added sparkle from the new Champagne Shimmer paper! Button was from my "stash".  Hope you enjoy!

Inside:  Verse was printed on the computer.

Supplies use:

PAPER:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Champagne Shimmer
STAMPS - Wonderfall and Teeny Tiny Wishes
INK: Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, More Mustard

The technique is called "Plaid".  Instructions for that are:  Ink your stamp (in this case the leaf) in the lightest color (in the case, pumpkin pie).  Then, using the next darkest color (in the case Cajun Craze) just use the very edge of your in pad, angling so just the narrow knife edge touches the stamp and tap over the stamp numerous times in one direction, then again on the diagonal.  Then use the next darkest color (in the case Cherry Cobbler) and repeat the steps in two other directions.  The next step is to just touch lightly on the very edge of your stamp with the Soft Suede.  Final step is to sponge around the edge with the More Mustard.

The Espresso paper was embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder
I just used 1/2 of the smaller leaf to tuck in for a bit of shimmer between the maple leaves.

That's it for today!  Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Welcome to my new blog

I have been putting this off for a long time, but have decided that now is the time for me to enter the blogging world.  I have the blog feature on my Stampin' Up! website, but it seems limited compared to what I see on other's blogs.  I hope to update this one more often now that I have a bit more time on my hands.  I quit working my full time "day job" the end of May.  I wanted to be able to spend more time with my family and devote more time to my Stampin' Up! business without working late into the nights as I have been.

Please hang with me while I try to learn all that is necessary to make this blog interesting and informative for you, my readers.

I'll begin by posting a photo (still need a photo box) of the cards that were made at my last class here at the house.  The pink one was partially CASE'd from an Australian Blogger, Teneale Williams.  I really love her work.  The bird card was a CASE from a swap I received at convention in July.  The original design was by Donna Penix.  I just changed it up a bit....adding layers and a few tiny flowers with pearls.

Pink Card

Stamp sets:  Bring on the Cake, French Foliage, Papaya Collage
Ink: Soft Suede, Pretty In Pink
Accessories: Vanilla Seam Binding, Delicate Designs Folder, Large Scallop Edgelits, Boho Blossom Punch, Pearls, Dimensionals (between each layer of the flowers) Non-SU punch for leafy fronds
Paper: Very vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede

Bird Card

Stamp set: Betsy's Blossoms, Saying from From My Heart
Ink: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit
Accessories:  Masking tape, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Pearls, Sponges
Paper: Old Olive, Primrose Petals, Whisper White

Here is the inside of the pink card.  This layout is what I love about Teneale's style!  I use it often  now.

And the inside of the bird card:

Hope you enjoyed seeing these.  Please leave a comment so I know someone actually stopped by!
:)

Thanks,
Sharon
